About

The Makers Workshops

Who for?
The Makers Workshops are open to adults with learning disabilities who love making, drawing, designing or performing. All you need to be is interested, keen to learn and develop your skills and want to have fun!

What’s Involved?
In these 5 week Workshops you choose the skills you want to learn or develop. Each workshop is different. You’ll be working alongside professional artists, sharing your interests, and finding out how you like to learn. As a Maker you’ll also meet other makers and artists to chat about ideas for future workshops.

How much will it cost?
Free, but you will need to arrange your own transport to and from the workshop.

Transport
We can refer you to social work travel assistance to apply for taxis to and from the workshops.

What support is available?
Support in the workshops will be provided by an Epilepsy Scotland Worker (a registered care provider who work with people with learning disabilities with or without epilepsy).

Where are the workshops based?
Different venues around Edinburgh and Midlothian. Please see the individual workshop flyers for venue information.

The Workshops
In the workshops you could be drawing, performing, dancing, songwriting, creating graphic arts, music, make-up art, photography, costume, textiles and more!

Creative Development
You’ll be collaborating with local groups in your community so you can continue your favourite activity after the workshops end.
